OB/GYN doctors specialize in reproductive health for women, including prenatal care and childbirth. If you choose an OB/GYN physician you will have your baby at the Cambridge Hospital Maternity Suite.

Certified Nurse Midwives

Cambridge Health Alliance Midwives

Our specially trained nurse midwives offer a highly personal, natural approach to prenatal care and childbirth. If you choose a midwife you can have your baby at the Cambridge Hospital Maternity Suite or the more intimate Cambridge Birth Center.

Family Medicine Physicians

Many of our Family Medicine doctors have special training in women's health, prenatal care and childbirth. If you already see a CHA Family Medicine doctor for your general health needs, ask about pregnancy care.

Maternal Fetal Medicine

Cambridge Health Alliance Maternity Suite

Maternal-Fetal Medicine services are available for women with high-risk pregnancies. These specialists look at the health of the mom and unborn child at the same time to reduce risk factors. Also, on site genetic counseling and prenatal diagnostics are available.


Doulas are women trained to help, support, encourage and accompany women during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum - much like a mother or sister would. A woman and her baby can feel secure knowing that our doulas can help make their birth experience a positive one. Our 17 doulas speak 10 different languages. They help you during a very joyous yet challenging time.

Pain Management

There are many ways you can reduce your pain during delivery. The more you know, the more relaxed you will be during labor. Here are some options that are available to you:
