Your Health Care Choices

When you are sick, where should you go for help? Use this simple list to help guide your decisions:

  • Primary Care. Your CHA primary care team is your home for health care. You can always call your CHA care center and speak with someone from your team. They want to see you when you are sick and may be able to give you a same-day appointment.
  • Emergency Care. If you think you are having a life threatening emergency, call 9-1-1. CHA has 24-hour emergency care at Cambridge Hospital, Somerville Hospital and Everett Hospital (see online wait times).
  • Urgent Care. All CHA care centers offer sick visits. But if you can’t make it to your doctor, CHA has two great urgent care partners:

Coordinated Care

Both Carewell and Beth Israel Deaconess Urgent Care share medical records with us electronically. This lets your CHA provider follow up with you after your visit, if you need.
