The CHA Academy of Educators is an inter-professional community dedicated to advancing teaching excellence, fostering educational scholarship, and strengthening collaboration across disciplines throughout CHA.
Whether you are looking to implement a curriculum, design a research project, or intentionally improve your day-to-day teaching, we are here to provide the scaffolding and professional relationships you need to succeed! Moreover, participation in a dynamic learning community can rekindle joy, restore purpose, and offer a powerful source of professional renewal.

Why join the Academy?
Academy membership reflects reciprocal investment between CHA and its educators. Leveraging CHA’s affiliations with leading academic institutions, including Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine, membership will confer benefits and opportunities to develop and publish educational projects, engage in peer mentoring and faculty development, be nominated for local and national awards, and to access resources such as small grants, technical assistance, and tuition support for courses.
Who should apply?
Anyone at CHA who embraces ‘medical educator’ as part of their professional identity!. You will join a vibrant community of existing Academy members listed here.
What is expected of members?
Developing an educational project with the goal of scholarship
Participating in at least 6 hours of Academy activities annually
An annual review of educational accomplishments with a mentor
What is meant by “project”?
We define “project” as an intentional effort to understand, innovate, or improve some aspect of health professions education at CHA. Your project may be work you are already doing, but with added structure and a plan for applying and sharing what you’ve learned.
Senior Mentor Membership Category
Senior Mentors are experienced educators and/or institutional leaders who have demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching, mentorship, leadership of Academic Departments or organizations and/or scholarship. Typically in the later stages of their careers, Senior Mentors serve as advisors, role models, and sponsors for Academy members, without a specific time investment or project required.. If you are not sure if the Senior Mentor category is the right one for you, please reach out to one of us!

We expect all applicants who agree to these foundational expectations to be accepted. Calls for Academy membership will occur once a year. Please look for our next call in Spring of 2027.
Senior Mentor applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
