Scholarship by CHA residents and faculty often focuses on the areas of health equity and access, education, and clinical innovation. Residents engage in scholarship as part of the research based health advocacy course and QI course, (see listings below) and many participate in additional projects.
The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) has long been the professional 'home' for many of our academic general internist faculty. Since 2014, our program has sponsored all internal medicine interns to attend the SGIM National Meeting during the spring of their first year of training. Residents across all training years are encouraged to submit their scholarly work for presentation to the meeting. Every effort is made to support junior and senior residents to attend the meeting if their work is accepted for presentation.
