Local Mayor Recognizes CHA as Vital Community Partner
Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) has been an important part of the fabric of the Everett community, a small city north of Boston, since it took over operation of CHA Everett Hospital (formerly Whidden Hospital) in 2001.
The hospital services nearly 200,000 patients a year from the surrounding communities and has some of the shortest emergency room wait times in the state.
In recognition of CHA’s 20th anniversary, and in celebration of Whidden Hospital changing its name to CHA Everett Hospital, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria penned a thoughtful letter in the Everett Independent. He highlighted some of the services, and initiatives, that the city and CHA partner together on to improve the well-being of the community.
“CHA is critical to our community, hosting a Primary Care Clinic on Broadway by providing a Teen Health Center at the High School, and ensuring that our population has access to affordable and high-quality care,” explained Mayor DeMaria. “Working with the Everett Community Health Partnership, CHA has also been key in addressing a multitude of issues in the community, like opioid misuse and underage drinking.”
