    Market Attendee Testimonials

"…The people are always so nice. They're always asking if you're okay, if you need help… here is one of the places where they make you feel okay for being here, because sometimes I know some people might not feel so great coming here. They might be a little embarrassed… but the people here that volunteer and work here always makes me feel really good for coming here."

"I like that my doctor's right here sometimes volunteering. One of them is here today. I met good one's last month from different hospitals, so I think that's great that they volunteer their Saturdays to be here. I always thank my doctor for doing it."

"It's really a big blessing to be able to count on vegetables and count on produce for at least some of the meals a month."

"…Sometimes it's a matter of, 'Do I get my medicine? Do I get food? Do I pay rent?'. So, it's an extra help that you can get from anywhere is always very useful, and then it's a weight off your mind of, 'Okay, well, I don't have to worry about this, and I can deal with that.' "

    Volunteer Testimonials

"I thoroughly enjoy volunteering at the mobile market (although I have not been able to since the pandemic started), it is one of the most rewarding things I have done in over 40 years of nursing! No matter the weather, volunteers show up with smiles on their faces because they know what this means to our patients and community."

"The community is so grateful for this service and they make sure no matter what language they speak that they let us know."

"The team that put this together and has continued to work hard on this is the best, I am so proud that they were able to continue this service through the pandemic when the need is even higher."

  • About Us
    A Brief History

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) Revere has partnered with The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) since March 2018 to increase community access to fresh foods. The mobile market is free and open to all. Learn more about our history by opening the History Timeline item below.

The market has been held the first Saturday of every month, providing 6-8 fresh fruits and vegetables. Since April 2020, non-perishable items were added to meet the needs of the community.

In March 2019, the market began a research study to understand market attendance, as well as the impact of the market on food insecurity, diet, and health. Learn more by visiting our Research page.
