    Additional Information

I completed my nursing studies at Johns Hopkins University and completed my midwifery studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

After completing my graduate studies in international development, I worked for a maternal health organization that ran the maternity unit of a hospital in western Ethiopia. I saw my first birth in Ethiopia, which was attended by a midwife and I realized that for me, becoming a midwife would be the best way to contribute to the improvement of women’s health.

I really enjoy teaching women about pregnancy, labor and birth, in addition to their bodies. It is incredible to see the physical and emotional transformation that occurs in individuals during pregnancy and the birthing process. It is such a privilege and honor to be apart of such an incredible period of these women’s lives.

Outside of work I love spending time with my husband and my daughter, who was born at the CHA Cambridge Birth Center. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, running and yoga.

I am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Cape Verde. I am also a registered yoga teacher.
