  • Ellen Anshelevich

I grew up in New Jersey in a family of Latvian immigrants. Throughout my childhood, I watched many family members, including my grandfather, struggle to navigate the healthcare system, which sparked my passion for medicine and working with underserved populations. I attended Princeton University, where I pursued those interests in cultural understandings of health and health equity through a degree in Anthropology with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy. After college, I worked as a research assistant at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, where I discovered my interest in dermatology. I earned my medical degree from Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, where I also met my husband, Tim, who is now an emergency medicine resident! During medical school, I spent a year at Brigham & Women's Hospital researching hidradenitis suppurativa, connective tissue diseases, and community health, which have become my special interests within dermatology. I'm very excited to continue my training at Cambridge Health Alliance, where I look forward to deepening my understanding of social medicine before completing my dermatology residency at Tufts. Outside of medicine, you'll find me dancing, hiking, traveling, or making friends with every dog I meet.

I was born in Rio de Janeiro and moved to Miami at a young age, learning Spanish before English as I adjusted to the new culture. Growing up in such diverse environments shaped my ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds and sparked my interest in community health. I attended Florida International University for both my undergraduate and medical education, earning degrees in Biological Sciences and English. Before medical school, I spent two years working as a program manager for a leadership development program designed to train Miami-Dade County’s top executives, where I led a team to successfully deliver multiple program cycles. During medical school, I became deeply involved in radiology research and education, leading projects in neuroradiology and interventional radiology and shaping an IR workshop for medical students across South Florida. I also served as a peer mentor and participated in community outreach through longitudinal household centered care. Joining Cambridge Health Alliance allows me to continue pursuing my passion for community-centered care in a setting that reflects the communities I grew up in. I will begin my training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania while continuing to make time for the activities I enjoy, including exercising, disc golf, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

I grew up in Coventry, Rhode Island, before pursuing the California dream at Stanford University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology. A highlight of my time at Stanford was channeling my background in dance into service–teaching young adults with disabilities and helping raise over $200,000 for uncompensated pediatric care. After graduating, I spent a year at the National Institutes of Health conducting behavioral neuroscience research before returning home to attend The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. At Brown, I discovered a passion for dermatology and found purpose in working with the underserved communities at Rhode Island Free Clinic and AIDS Project Rhode Island. These experiences have led me to pursue a Transitional Year at Cambridge Health Alliance, where I will build a strong clinical foundation before continuing on to residency training at Brown Dermatology. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants, staying active, and spending quality time with loved ones.

Born and raised in New Hampshire, I am thrilled to be returning home to New England for residency! I attended the University of New Hampshire, where I studied psychology with a minor in chemistry. After graduating during the height of the pandemic, my work as a legal assistant in my county court system and as a psycho oncology clinical research coordinator at Dartmouth affirmed my interests in psychology, social determinants of health, and advocacy for justice involved and underserved populations. I then went on to earn my medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine, where I continued to build on these interests. During my first year, I founded Duke HealthCARES, a student led initiative supporting justice involved individuals as they transition back into the community. Through that work, along with my clinical experiences, I became increasingly drawn to whole person care and to understanding how what we see clinically often reflects deeper aspects of a patient’s health and lived experience. That same perspective on care and commitment to community is what drew me to Cambridge Health Alliance, and why I am so excited to train in a place that so closely aligns with my values before continuing my dermatology training at Boston University. In my free time, I love trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

  • Lleayem Nazario

I am a proud native New Englander having lived my entire life in Rhode Island, the great Ocean State. I earned my undergraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. During that time I engaged in longitudinal research investigating the immunotherapeutic effects of small molecules on solid tumors. After graduating, I began medical school at Brown University where my early interest in radiology led me to conduct research exploring the capabilities of LLMs in radiological decision making culminating in presentations at RSNA. Attending Brown allowed me to embrace my roots by directly giving back to the community that raised me through my work at the Rhode Island Free Clinic. Cambridge Health Alliance allows me to continue in that same area of work with the mission to address social determinants of health and the underserved population. I could not have asked for a more ideal place to form my foundation in medicine before continuing my residency training in diagnostic radiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University. During my free time I love to play soccer, sail, try new foods, and enjoy all things outdoors!

  • Aaron Gabriel Sandoval

I grew up in Lakeland, Florida, and attended the University of Florida, where I studied biology and developed an early interest in regenerative medicine, studying animals that can regenerate after injury. After graduating, I was awarded the Marshall Scholarship, which took me to the University of Cambridge and King's College London to pursue two Master's degrees studying stem cell biology and regenerative therapy translation. I completed medical school at Harvard Medical School and will be going to Johns Hopkins for dermatology residency. My academic interests center on dermatology, wound healing, and regenerative medicine, particularly the use of stem cells to treat and study conditions like epidermolysis bullosa. I have been fortunate to work across academia and industry, from basic science labs to biotech startups and venture capital firms, exploring how scientific innovation can reach patients more effectively. In my free time, I enjoy playing and coaching tennis, weightlifting, and watching basketball. I completed my core clinical rotations during medical school at CHA and am excited to be back as a resident.

  • Helen Zhang

I'm originally from Long Island, growing up in Levittown, NY. I attended Brown University as part of the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), where I studied Biology and Computer Science. I continued my studies at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, exploring interests in imaging research and human-centered design. Working with Design x Health, a multi-institutional collaboration, I applied my experience in visual art and UI/UX to develop healthcare interfaces and community-based outreach initiatives. I hope to further understand how humans interact with technology and champion the importance of healthcare remaining patient-centered in the context of rapid technological advancement.

Spending the last eight years in the Northeast, I've grown quite fond of Cambridge and am looking forward to being part of such a vibrant community. I am overjoyed to be training at Cambridge Health Alliance, an institution notable for caring for the underserved, where I hope to develop a strong foundation in medicine and a humanistic approach to patient care. Afterwards, I will continue my residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the city, everything DIY, and sweet treats in moderation.
