CHA to Host New England Muslim Festival on Sept. 17

09/12/2017
MALDEN, Mass. – Cambridge Health Alliance will host the second annual New England Muslim Festival on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the CHA Malden Care Center located at 195 Canal St. in Malden. The event, which will take place from 12-6 p.m., is free and open to the public.

The festival will feature several arts and music performances, including an appearance by Canadian sensation Deen Squad, as well as a grand bazaar with International food stalls, the Kids’ Zone with rides and activities, an informational booth with a "Try on Hijab" table, a professional henna artist, CHA-sponsored free health screening and opportunities to meet local Muslim residents of New England.

“We were thrilled by the success of last year’s Festival, and we can’t wait to welcome our community again this year,” said event organizer Malika MacDonald. “In these times of widespread misunderstanding about American Muslims, it’s more important than ever that we show our neighbors who we truly are.”

More details may be found at the festival’s website. The festival is a partnership between the City of Malden, Islamic Council of New England and Cambridge Health Alliance.
