3-Year Reaccreditation as a Community Hospital Cancer Program

Patients with cancer need to know they will find excellent care at CHA. That’s why we are proud to announce we received 3-year reaccreditation as a Community Hospital Cancer Program!

This national certification, offered by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer, is the gold standard for healthcare facilities. In order to maintain accreditation, CHA demonstrated that we offer an integrated, system-wide cancer program. Our cancer program is guided by the CHA Cancer Committee, comprehensive oncologic care, a cancer registry that monitors our CHA cancer patient outcomes, ongoing oncologic quality improvement activities and access to clinical trials. Of the 34 standards reviewed during our survey, we were excited to receive commendation in 5 areas: oncology nursing, registrar education and accuracy of reporting, synoptic reporting and public reporting of outcomes.

Cancer continues to be a major concern for our patients and in our communities. We are working together to meet patient and community needs to provide excellent cancer care, at CHA and with our partner, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
