CHA Celebrates "Care to the People" Mural at Somerville Campus

SOMERVILLE, Mass. – Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), an academic community health system serving Cambridge, Somerville and Boston's metro-north region, recently completed the installation of a “Care to the People” mural at the CHA Somerville Campus (on the outside of the Highland Avenue Building).
Local artist Amanda Hill, Gregory Jenkins of the Somerville Arts Council, Steve Callahan Jr. of Callahan Construction, United Rentals and Mary Cassesso, CHA’s chief community officer and foundation president, brought this idea to life. “Care to the people” is CHA’s rallying cry that demonstrates the organization's passion for reducing barriers to care, advocating for change, and partnering with the community. CHA reaches out, welcomes all and stands up for the health of people in its communities. The heart represents CHA’s dedication to caring and compassion, and is universally understood in any language.
“We are excited to celebrate our values through this beautiful community mural. Art, like medicine, is healing, connecting and relaxing our minds and bodies,” said Cassesso. “The new mural at the CHA Somerville Campus serves as a unique symbol of CHA’s commitment to social justice and health equity.”
