CHA Physician Selected to Join the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Leadership Program
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Gaurab Basu, MD, MPH, a Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) primary care physician and instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS), has been chosen to participate in one of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s leadership development programs, designed to equip leaders to collaborate and use their voices to make communities healthier and more equitable.
Specifically, Dr. Basu was selected to join the Culture of Health Leaders initiative. Designed for individuals from all sectors—from technology and business to architecture and urban planning—Culture of Health Leaders foster cross-sector collaboration. The program allows participants to remain in their jobs and directly apply everything they learn to improve policy and practice in their communities. The three-year program provides participants with an annual stipend of up to $20,000.
As a member of the program’s newest cohort, Dr. Basu will have access to Robert Wood Johnson’s tremendous resources to gain leadership and community organizing training. His project focuses on developing a center that would develop and evaluate health equity curriculum for health professionals at CHA and nationally. The goal of the center is to provide resources and community that enable healthcare professionals to develop as agents of social change.
