Additional Information

As a primary care physician and Medical Director at both the CHA Everett and CHA Revere Family Health Centers, I have an opportunity to help people in many different ways.  In my clinical work, I enjoy teaching patients and families about the value of preventive care and healthy decisions. I am also able to work on a wider level to help develop new ways to deliver patient centered care. I believe it is possible for each patient and family to have care that is very high quality and lower cost without compromising the important patient-physician relationship.

I am especially interested in how childhood influences and decisions affect health later in adult life. By practicing both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, I am able to care for all members of a family, many of whom have complex health needs. This gives me an important perspective in the prevention and treatment of illness – allowing me to help individuals stay healthy, while helping entire families and communities.

This job is so rewarding because I’m able to make at least a small difference in the life of each patient, every day.  I do not expect to solve every problem I confront immediately, but know that small things can make an important difference. I think children are both vulnerable and easy to influence. Because of this, I feel a responsibility to both advocate for children and to educate them about ways to stay healthy. The health of future generations depends on this.

As I have lived in many parts of the country, I am often spending my free time traveling to visit family and friends. I also believe that health care providers should “practice what they preach” and exercise is important. I try to spend time each week at the gym. Currently I’m research my family history and am proud to have roots that go back to the original settling of New England in the 1600s.
