Cambridge Health Alliance Bike 4 Books Event on March 1 to Support Childhood Literacy
Posted Date: 2/20/2014
Cambridge, Mass. — Cambridge Health Alliance, a vital and innovative community health system that serves Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north communities, will join with Wellbridge Athletic Club to host the ninth annual Bike 4 Books spin-a-thon on Saturday, March 1, to benefit childhood literacy program Project READ. The event will take place from 12 – 5 p.m. at Wellbridge in Harvard Square (5 Bennett St., Cambridge).

Participants in Bike 4 Books will make a difference in a local child’s life. Project READ (Read Each And Every Day), an initiative started by CHA’s Department of Pediatrics, promotes childhood literacy in a medical setting. All proceeds raised from the event will be used to buy books that are given to children who come to CHA hospitals and primary care centers for care.

Spots are still available for people looking to get some exercise and support a great cause. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with hourly sessions from 12 - 5 p.m. that will be led by elite instructors from Wellbridge. A catered reception will follow. Riders may participate in as many hourly sessions as desired. To sign up, make a gift to support Project READ, or get more information, please call 617-591-4083  or visit www.challiance.org/HowtoGive/Bike4Books.aspx.
