Cambridge, MA…Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a Harvard-affiliated integrated healthcare system, has introduced a new tool to improve patient service.
The CHA Doctor Finder Service is a dedicated phone line established to meet the needs of CHA’s growing patient population. By dialing the Doctor Finder Service line at 617-665-1305, callers will be connected to a call center equipped to make appointments and help patients find a care provider.
With this service, CHA aims to both gain and retain primary care patients by making it as easy as possible to receive medical services. CHA offers a wide range of primary care options at 15 locations throughout Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north communities, all of which feature bilingual staff.
The implementation of the CHA Doctor Finder Service is integrated with all of CHA’s primary care centers, making it a one-stop-shop for patients while limiting hold times and misdirected calls. Consistent with CHA’s commitment to culturally competent care, Doctor Finder Service staff also speak Portuguese and Spanish and have access to over 100 languages on request.
The CHA Doctor Finder Service is one piece of an overall effort to improve customer service throughout CHA’s system of care. As CHA transitions into an Accountable Care Organization, it will be able to measure improvements in various categories, including patient safety, care coordination, and, now, customer service.
