The Somerville Hospital campus is one of three CHA hospital locations in the communities north of Boston. It is located at 230 Highland Avenue in Somerville, MA, just minutes from Tufts University and Davis Square, and is a teaching site for our Harvard Medical School programs.

The doctors and expert staff at the Somerville campus offer a wide range of health services including 24-hour emergency care, primary care for adults, women's health services, day surgery, and medical specialty care, and the CHA Eye Center (see links at left).

NEW IN 2010

• Improved Highland Building. We are making major improvements to our Highland Building to give you better care.

In August and September, our two Eye Centers will join together in new offices on the 1st floor. This will let our team care for all your eye and vision needs in one easy location!

In October, our primary care site at 26 Central Street will move into brand new offices on the 2nd Floor and become Somerville Hospital Primary Care.

Other recent improvements at Somerville Hospital:

• FAST-ER emergency service. Our new service uses Rapid Assessment methods and an ASAP computer system. This lets us provide expert care quickly to all our patients, resulting in very high patient satisfaction scores.

  And, if you need to stay overnight at a hospital, we can admit you directly to our Cambridge campus with no delays!

• The GI Center, which cares for for heartburn, colon cancer, and other health needs
• Radiology Improvements, including Next-Day Digital Mammography and a 16-slice CT scanner
