The Department of Radiology helps maintain
and restore the health of patients by providing diagnostic tools
and therapeutic intervention when appropriate. Radiology physicians
and Radiologic technologists provide expert imaging services at
all three hospital campuses.
Over the past few years, the Alliance has continued
to invest in our services, our staff, and state of the art radiology
equipment, including:
Cambridge:
- New 64-slice CT scanner
- New Breast Imaging Suite with digital mammography, breast ultrasound,
and breast MRI
- New ultrasound equipment
Somerville:
- New CT scanner
- New nuclear medicine camera
- New ultrasound equipment
- Digital radiography
- Digital mammography
Whidden:
- New MRI unit
- New 64-slice CT scanner
- New OB ultrasound
- New Bone Densitometer
- Digital mammography
All 3 campuses now have Picture Archiving and Communication Systems
(PACS) and digital mammography.
We are happy to announce that the Ultrasound Department at all
three Cambridge Health Alliance campuses received the highly competitive
Accreditation from the American College of Radiology with
the highest scores possible! Congratulations to our outstanding
team!
