Opioid Addiction
and Family Project
The Opioid Addiction
and Family Project is a new research study being conducted at Cambridge
Health Alliance. The goal of this effort is to find out if adding
family counseling to individual counseling and Naltrexone medication
leads to better treatment outcomes for people struggling with opioid
addiction. For more information, go to:
our opioid research program website.
Individual Treatment
As a service
the Outpatient Addictions Service (OAS) has limited capacity to
provide individual psychotherapy. While some individual psychotherapy
is provided, the "treatment of choice" is generally group
psychotherapy.
Psychopharmacology
The focus of
this service is on treating those individuals dually challenged
by both psychiatric and addiction disorders. In order to be eligible
for ongoing medication management, individuals must be engaged in
some form of outpatient treatment through the Outpatient Addiction
Service - either individual or group.
Case Management
Assistance in
accessing community services and supports is also provided.
