Message for our Patients:
As of June 25,
2009, the inpatient Addictions/Detox unit at the Somerville Hospital
campus is closed.
Mental health
services have always been an important part of the CHA mission.
The payments we receive for providing these services, however, are
much lower than our actual costs. As one of the largest mental health
service providers in the state, this left us with a major financial
shortfall.
In order to
close this gap, and preserve other critical health services, we
were forced to make reductions to some of our mental health and
substance abuse services, including the inpatient Addictions/Detox
unit.
Please note
that Outpatient Addictions services
are still available at the Central
Street Health Center.
