WOMEN'S SPECIALTY SERVICES

Women require more than just OB/GYN care, and here at Cambridge Health Alliance we have developed many specialty services that address more complex health needs. We have recently invested in facilities, equipment and staff to increase our capacity in caring for women including primary care services, diagnostic testing, to surgical services, and counseling.

Diabetes Care

Cambridge Health Alliance's Diabetes Management program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and our staff includes certified diabetes educators, registered nurses and nutritional support staff. We also use a planned care model to care for diabetes patients by using a team approach.

Family Medicine & Primary Care

With over 20 primary care centers in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston's Metro-North Communities, women and families can take advantage of the Alliance's top primary care services. We offer internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics and family medicine.

The Family Medicine Department is an integral part of Women's Health Services, as family practitioners also see patients for prenatal care and deliver babies at the Cambridge Campus. Alliance family practice sites include Union Square Family Health, East Somerville Family Health, Riverside Health Center, North Cambridge Health Center, and the CHA Malden Family Medicine Center.

Women's Headache Center

Our headache management program is provided in conjunction with our outstanding Neurology team. Click here to learn more.

Nutrition Services

Eating healthy is important when it comes to maintaining one's weight, maximizing one's energy, and especially when eating for two. Upon referral by a PCP, our Registered Dietitians with advanced training in high risk prenatal and adult chronic disease, provide medical nutrition therapy as part of the management of diseases or conditions. In addition to one-on-one meetings, our nutritionists offer our patients healthy eating seminars such as "Food for the Body & Soul" and "Eating for Two." Also, many of our patients benefit from our 8-week program, "Be Well…Women, Weight Management and Wellness," which teaches weight management skills, and more importantly, teaches lifestyle changes. Osteoporosis Care

Our bone health program, offered in partnership with our Department of Orthopaedics, helps menopausal women treat bone loss, or osteoporosis. Click here to learn more about Orthopaedics.

Women's Mental Health Services

Our world-class mental health programs, offered jointly with our Harvard-affiliated Department of Psychiatry, are available for women. These include couples therapy, behavioral therapy, and a variety of support groups. We also provide special seminars like our "one-hour spa for women" that helps women better manage stress and depression. Click here to learn more.

Urology

Our Women's Health Center works closely with the Urology Division at the Alliance to provide comprehensive urological care for problems unique to our female population. Using the latest technology, we offer a full range of diagnostic and surgical services tailored to address female urinary conditions.
