Meet the Doctors Evening
Meet the Doctors provides a chance for "soon-to-be-moms"
and their family to talk with providers and staff of the OB/GYN
Department. Additionally, patients are given an opportunity to tour
the Maternity Suite.
Maternity Unit Tours
We invite you to visit and tour our Maternity Unit. This is an
opportunity to become familiar with the unit and more at ease as
you learn about what to expect. Also, it's a chance to meet our
dedicated delivery staff before your hospital stay.

Childbirth Education
To boost "soon-to-be-parents" confidence that they can
safely care for their newborns, we offer a number of classes. To
name a few, we offer Eating for Two, New Dad Class, and Breastfeeding
101.
Cambridge Birth Center Orientation Night
The Birth Center hosts orientation nights throughout the year
for patients and their families who plan to deliver at the Birth
Center. Patients and their families have an opportunity to learn
more about the birth center and receive a tour of this beautiful
facility.
Centering Pregnancy
Centering Pregnancy is an innovative approach to prenatal care.
Patients attend group appointments with other women where they meet
with physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, midwives, nutritionists
and other staff. The group model promotes women helping women through
all the changes during pregnancy. These visits are also offered
specifically for Spanish and Portuguese speakers.

Baby Steps
The Department of OB/GYN and Women's Health and the division of
Child Psychology join together to provide support, information and
resources for young mothers and their babies during this critical
transition to parenthood. A variety of services are available including
support groups, one-on-one meetings and referral information.
New Dad Class
New Dads have lots of questions about how to provide the best
care to their newborns. Led by a pediatric nurse and lactation consultant,
groups discuss newborn care, feeding, bathing, sleeping and other
Dad issues.
Multilingual Mother's Support Groups
Mothers and babies are invited to a "drop in" support
group that is held weekly by our Doulas. The groups are held in
English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Hindi and Bengali.
In addition, weekly breastfeeding support groups are held by our
lactation consultants.

Be Well Women, Weight Management and Wellness
We offer an 8-week program for women with weight management concerns,
including obesity, yo-yo dieting, and compulsive eating. This group
is not solely for weight loss, but for teaching lifestyle changes
and new wellness skills.
Managing Menopause
Women are invited to come learn about conventional and alternative
therapies used to relieve menopausal symptoms. Topics included the
latest controversies regarding hormone replacement therapies and
strategies for managing the unique stresses that occur during this
transition.
Food for the body and soul
This seminar looks at how classic 'comfort foods' can often leave
women feeling less than comfortable. Led by a psychiatrist and nutritionist,
this discussion looks at food choices that help women feel good
and stay healthy.
