Porell, MA, MBA

For more than
20 years, David J. Porell has held senior management roles in both
academic and community hospital settings. Since joining CHA in 2001,
Porell has successfully managed several key clinical programs including
launching a new Sports Medicine program and enhancing the existing
Occupational Health program. He also oversaw the $15 million radiology
equipment upgrade plan. In 2006, Mr. Porell assumed responsibility
for the CHA Physicians Organization (CHAPO).
Porell previously
served as Supervisor of Outpatient Services for Physical Therapy
at Massachusetts General Hospital (1979-1984), Vice President for
Support Services at Morton Hospital and Medical Center (1988-1993),
and Associate Vice President for Rehabilitation Services at Morton
Hospital and Medical Center (1993-2001).
He earned his
undergraduate degree at the University of New Hampshire, a master's
in physical therapy from the University of Southern California,
and a master's in business administration with concentrations in
health care management and finance from Boston University.
