Dennis
D. Keefe

Dennis Keefe
has worked in academic teaching facilities and community hospitals
for over 30 years with experience as both Chief Operating Officer
and Chief Financial Officer. He has served as the Chief Executive
Officer of Cambridge Health Alliance and the Commissioner of Public
Health for the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts since 2002.
From 1986 to
1988, Keefe worked at CHA as an Associate Administrator of Professional
Services at CHA, and returned as Chief Operating Officer in February
of 2000. During Keefe's most recent tenure as COO, he was a key
leader, managing the day-to-day operations of what was then a $350
Million system. Under Keefe's leadership, CHA has grown to over
a $1 billion system.
Keefe is a member
of the HealthCare Financial Management Association, the American
College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the executive committee
of the National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems,
on the board of the National Public Health and Hospital Institute
(NPHHI), and is an officer of the Massachusetts Hospital Association
(MHA). He is a highest honors graduate of Northeastern University
where he received the Dean's Citation Award as the top student in
the Health Sciences Program. Keefe also earned a master's degree
in business administration, with a focus in health care administration,
from Northeastern University and
recently was honored as the 2005 Alumnus of the Year by Northeastern
University.
