At Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) we are dedicated to serving our neighborhoods, implementing new models of care and building a workforce that is prepared to meet the needs of our patients in this dynamic health care environment.
A Focus on Community
At Cambridge Health Alliance diversity is at the core of our culture. As a safety net hospital we are committed to serving anyone and everyone in our community who needs care. Patients benefit from CHA’s interpreter services program operating in over 150 languages, our extensive bilingual primary care provider network and targeted programs like the Haitian Mental Health Program.
CHA has a reputation for being a visible health care partner in our local communities also – our staff members live here, work here and understand the people and cultures of Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville and Winthrop, MA. We believe that community health care systems have a responsibility to support the needs of our patients and the broader needs of the community. We’ve developed robust public and community health functions and coalitions, and we operate the Cambridge Public Health Department.
At the Forefront of Innovation
CHA is a leader in implementing new models of health care. We are seen as a national leader in implementing the Patient Centered Medical Home model (recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article) and in integrating behavioral health with primary care. We are working to improve complex care management for patients with the most challenging needs, and our Emergency Departments are considered some of the most advanced in the nation when it comes to reducing wait times and increasing the timeliness of care.
Committed to Growth and Access
CHA is committed to expanding our services and increasing access for patients. We’re looking to grow in areas like Primary Care and need highly skilled nurses across the spectrum of care in areas like medical/surgical care, critical care, peri-operative, primary care, specialty ambulatory care, psychiatry, school and public health, and emergency services who are interested in joining a passionate workplace where people come first. We offer generous tuition reimbursement and a number of ongoing learning opportunities for our staff to grow and develop in their careers.
Major Teaching Hospital
CHA is a major teaching hospital and sets the bar for fostering an environment of teaching and learning. Affiliated with Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine, CHA nurses engage in daily collaboration with some of the most highly skilled physicians in the country. Moreover, they play a role in educating the next generation of doctors and nurses who work alongside them. CHA nurses are exposed to cutting-edge innovations in health care through these academic affiliations and engage in life-long learning and teaching while working here.
Setting High Standards
CHA cares about quality and has standards in place for recruiting nurses with a high level of skill and knowledge. Every nurse hired by CHA is required to have their bachelor’s in nursing (BSN) with a recognition that education has a positive impact on nursing competencies. Nurses at CHA come to our practices with skills in critical thinking, leadership, and health promotion across a variety of inpatient and
Leading the Way in Information Technology
CHA is a leader in healthcare information technology and has fully deployed EPIC. EPIC is an integrated suite of health care software that helps nurses monitor and track patient vitals and information. It is considered a premier tool in the health care industry today. Nurses who have experience working on EPIC will find the transition to CHA an easy one. The CHA EPIC system is also integrated with our partner health care systems, ensuring that patients receive seamless care across our network.
