Cambridge Health Alliance Pharmacist Receives National Award for Senior Care
Posted Date: 10/19/2011
Cambridge, MA...The National PACE Association has named Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) pharmacist Emma D'Alleva as the recipient of the 2011 Marie-Louise Ansak Award. The award, which honors the founder of PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), recognizes an individual who has helped improve the quality of life for older adults.

Ms. D'Alleva works at the Elder Service Plan, CHA's PACE program, located at 270 Green St. in Cambridge. Through its all-inclusive, coordinated care, the Plan helps its participants, who have multiple significant medical conditions, remain living safely at home and out of nursing homes.

PACE coordinates and provides all needed preventive, primary, acute, and long-term care services for over 24,000 patients across the U.S. The annual Marie-Louise Ansak Award honors an employee who has demonstrated unselfishness, originality, innovation, and creativity, enhanced the program's participants and its interdisciplinary team, made a difference in the life of one or more PACE participants, and epitomized the concept of "team player." Ms. D'Alleva was selected from among thousands of employees at 80 PACE programs nationwide.

"Emma embodies the patient-centered approach at the heart of our mission," said CHA's Acting Chief Executive Officer Allison Bayer. "She puts our patients at ease and makes them feel special, and her warmth and enthusiasm support and encourage her colleagues. She perfectly demonstrates what a difference we can make in our patients' daily lives."

Ms. D'Alleva accepted the award at the National PACE Association's annual conference on October 11 in New Orleans.

CHA's Elder Service Plan is available for patients in Cambridge and ten neighboring communities. For more information, please call 617-575-5850.
