Everett, MA…On July 13-15, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) will host the second annual CHA Community Soccer Tournament at Everett Memorial Stadium. The tournament, presented in partnership with the City of Everett Recreation Center and supported by Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Jr., highlights the city’s efforts to promote health and wellness.
The three-day event, which will include 12 teams, will showcase some of the best amateur players in Everett and the surrounding communities. Friday, July 13, will feature an exhibition between Everett Youth Soccer and Brazilian United FC – festivities start at 6 p.m. The competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15, with games beginning at 9 a.m. The winning team will receive a $1000 cash prize, a trophy, and a dinner reception at Stewart's in Everett. Admission is $1, which will go to support Everett Youth Soccer.
In addition to the competition, the event will feature kids’ entertainment, music, food vendors, and a medical tent with information on injury prevention. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the City of Everett's Recreation Center health and wellness improvement projects. Attendees are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for a food drive to benefit an area food pantry. Everett Memorial Stadium is located on Rt. 16 in Everett.
Team members must be 18+ and all teams must register by Friday, June 29. Teams may sign up through the Everett Recreation Center at 47 Elm Street in Everett (call 617-394-2381) or visit CHA’s Sports Medicine website for a registration form. The registration fee is $150 per team, payable by check or money order to Cambridge Health Alliance.
