The 2017-2018 CHA Global Health and Human Rights seminar will take place on Monday, February 12th from 12-1pm in room 4-B-11 (4th floor) at the CHA Central Street Care Center, 26 Central Street, Somerville, MA 02143 (get directions to the event).

Prof. Noora Lori will discuss labor migration, national identity, and human rights in the Persian Gulf states. She is an assistant professor of International Relations at the Boston University Pardee School of International Relations, the Founding Director of the Pardee School Initiative on Forced Migration and Human Trafficking. Prof. Lori’s research focuses on the political economy of migration, the development of security institutions and international migration control, the establishment and growth of national identity systems, and temporary migration schemes and racial hierarchies.
