The Division of Cardiology provides a full array of
noninvasive testing procedures for heart disease on site including
state-of-the-art cardiac ultrasound.
Invasive services are performed by our cardiologists in collaboration with Mount Auburn Hospital. The Cambridge/Somerville team consists of three cardiologists with extensive experience and the ability to care for adult patients of all ages; all members are board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and two have additional certifications in Critical Care Medicine and Geriatrics.
Non-invasive Services:
- Stress testing
- by treadmill, pharmacologic stimulation and using associated cardiac imaging where appropriate
- Echocardiography services
- trans-thoracic, trans-esophageal, with or without contrast
- Holter monitoring
- FAA and Canadian Civil Aviation medical examinations
Invasive Services (in conjunction with Mount Auburn Hospital):
- Cardiac catheterization
- Percutaneous angioplasty (PTCA)
- Impantation and follow-up of Cardiac Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders, and Cardioverter-Defibrillators (ICD)
Whidden cardiology services are provided by a variety of specialists
on the Whidden medical staff. Several providers have outpatient
sessions at Alliance sites in Everett and Revere.
