Pediatric Primary Care

We know how important it is to get care for your child in a convenient location. That's why we offer primary care at office sites in Cambridge, Somerville, Everett, Malden, and Revere.

All of our pediatric sites are accepting new patients and we will see you as soon as possible. And, if your child is sick or hurt, you will be able to see a pediatrician any day of the year.

Please click here for a new Patient Checklist.

Pediatric Specialty Care

Specialty services are available for children at several CHA sites, including specialists from Massachusetts General Hospital who see patients right at the Cambridge campus. This lets your child get the care they need without going into Boston.

Cambridge Health Alliance doctors and staff have special expertise in the following Pediatric Specialty areas:

Asthma Heart Care
Dentistry Mental Health
Diabetes Neurology

Ear, Nose, & Throat

Nutrition
Gastroenterology Surgery

24 Hour Emergency Care

If your child is having a medical emergency, please dial 911.

CHA provides 24-hour Emergency care at each of its three hospitals. Recently, we hired a pediatric emergency medicine specialist to oversee the care of children at each of these locations. This lets us give your child the best care at any of our three emergency rooms - at the Cambridge, Somerville, or Whidden campus.

There is a special pediatric track at the Cambridge campus with four emergency exam rooms designed especially for children with 24-hour coverage by Massachusetts General Hospital pediatric residents.

If your child is seriously ill or injured, and needs overnight care, we have an arrangement with Massachusetts General Hospital that allows your child to be directly transferred and admited.

After Hours, Weekends and Holidays

For urgent questions and problems call your pediatrician's office. After regular business hours, this call will ring at Nurse Partners, a nursing triage center. The nurse who answers the call will be able to provide you with advice, schedule a weekend or holiday sick visit, or contact the on-call pediatrician as needed.

Our on-call pediatrician sees patients at either the Cambridge campus or the Somerville campus on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Call early in the morning for an appointment.

The emergency room should only be used for life-threatening emergencies (If you are not sure if your child needs to be seen right away, please call.).

Insurance

Your insurance may have rules about emergency room services that could affect what they pay for. When possible, make sure you get prior approval before using any emergency room. Call the office as soon as possible to let them know you used the emergency room if you were not able to let them know beforehand.
