PHYSICAL MEDICINE (PHYSIATRY)
We offer expert physical medicine (physiatry) services
through the Orthopaedics Department.
This service provides diagnosis and treatment of
patients with non-surgical musculoskeletal issues such as shoulder,
knee, hip, neck and back pain.
Other referred conditions include the management
of limb spasticity (when certain muscles are continuously tight)
related to neurologic conditions such as spinal cord injuries, brain
injuries and cerebral palsy.
Physical Medicine Services:
- Diagnosis
- Office Procedures like steroid and joint injections
- Spasticity Management including nerve blocks
- Nerve Conduction Studies
- Musculoskeletal pathology
- Electrodiagnosis
Physical Medicine services are available at the
Occupational
Health and Orthopaedics Center at Assembly Square,
Cambridge campus, and Whidden
Memorial campus.
