and Delicious Eating
Free event on Thursday, June 24, at Cambridge Health Alliance's
Whidden Hospital campus
Everett and Revere, MA…People suffering from diabetes and
heart disease face many challenges when trying to eat food that
is both nutritious and delicious. Spurred by a suggestion from a
patient in a diabetes support group at its Revere Family Health
center, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), with the support of numerous
community partners, will showcase healthy lifestyle options at the
CHA Revere-Everett "Taste of the Town" Health Fair on
Thursday, June 24.
The event, which will take place from 5 - 6:30 p.m. at CHA's Whidden
Hospital campus, located at 103 Garland St. in Everett, aims to
help people afflicted with diabetes and heart disease in Everett,
Revere, and the surrounding communities. It will feature a sampling
of healthy recipes from local restaurants and Whidden staff. Other
activities will include live cooking demonstrations, free health
screenings, "Walk It Off" tours of the Whidden Hospital
campus, diabetes bingo, and more.
Many groups and agencies have mobilized to help support the event,
including the Everett and Revere Boards of Health, Mass in Motion,
Energize Everett, RevereCARES, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Jr.,
and Revere Mayor Thomas Ambrosino. For more information, please
