Cambridge Health Alliance Names Chief of Cardiology
Cambridge,
Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, MA…Cambridge
Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that Deepak
Thatai, MD, FACC, has been appointed the healthcare system's
Chief of Cardiology. Dr. Thatai will be based at CHA's Whidden Hospital
campus in Everett and will also see patients at the Cambridge and
Somerville Hospital campuses.
After completing medical school and his medical residency in India,
Dr. Thatai moved to the United States and performed fellowships
in Interventional Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease at Wayne
State University in Detroit. Over the past decade, he has practiced
medicine primarily in Michigan, including his most recent position
as Director of the Cardiac Cath lab at the Detroit VA Medical Center.
Dr. Thatai is also an accomplished educator, having earned numerous
teaching awards at Wayne State. He currently serves as a lecturer
on medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in
Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
