Cambridge Health Alliance Nurses Honored by the New England Regional Black Nurses Association
Cambridge, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced
today that three CHA nurses have been honored with the 2009 Excellence
in Nursing Award from the New England Regional Black Nurses Association,
Inc. (NERBNA).
Christley Harris, RN, CNM, a certified nurse midwife at the Cambridge
Birth Center, Jennifer Knight, RN, a charge nurse at the Broadway
Health Center in Somerville, and Judith LaGuerre, RN, a staff nurse
at CHA's Geriatric Specialty Unit, each received the award, which
recognizes individuals for their contributions and meritorious efforts
in the field of nursing. The awards were presented at a ceremony
at the Boston Marriott Copley Place celebrating National Black Nurses
Day.
NERBNA is a chapter of the National Black Nurses Association and
part of a national effort to unify, educate, and recruit African-American
nurses into the profession. The organization provides health services
to the community and offers mentorship, scholarship and educational
opportunities to African-American nurses and nursing students throughout
