Cambridge Health Alliance Names Site Chief of

Everett, MA…Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA)
announced today that William Horgan, MD, has been named Site Chief
of Emergency Medicine for CHA's Whidden Hospital campus in Everett.
Dr. Horgan comes to CHA from William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich,
Conn., where he managed clinical and policy oversight for Pediatric
Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Horgan's appointment strengthens the Whidden Hospital campus's
ability to deliver high-quality emergency care and meet the needs
of residents in Everett, Chelsea, Malden, Revere, and Winthrop.
Whidden's 24-hour emergency room, which was completely renovated
in 2007, continues to serve patients of all ages. This year, it
is expected to have 35,000 patient visits.
Other recent emergency room improvements at the Whidden campus
include an electronic patient tracking system and rapid assessment
protocols. These enhancements have reduced wait times, improved
the quality of care, and increased patient satisfaction.
Dr. Horgan is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine

in both Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
