Cambridge Health Alliance Nurses Honored by New England Regional Black Nurses Association
Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, Winthrop, MA…Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that three CHA nurses were honored with the 2008 Excellence in Nursing Award from the New England Regional Black Nurses Association, Inc. (NERBNA).
Linda Battle, RN, Manager of Academic Partnerships and Nursing Workforce Development, Fareeda Mahmoud, RN, Clinical Manager at CHA’s Revere Family Health Center, and Regina Galarza, RN, a general duty nurse in CHA’s Child Assessment Unit, all received the award, which recognizes individuals for their contributions and meritorious efforts in the field of nursing. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Boston Marriott Copley Place celebrating National Black Nurses Day.
NERBNA is a chapter of the National Black Nurses Association and part of a national effort to unify, educate, and recruit African-American nurses into the profession. The organization provides health services to the community and offers mentorship, scholarship and educational opportunities to African-American nurses and nursing students throughout New England.
