Breast Cancer Surgeon Blake Cady, MD, Joins Cambridge
Health Alliance


Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, Winthrop, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that Blake Cady, MD, a distinguished breast cancer surgeon, has joined the staff of its Cambridge Breast Center and CHA’s Department of Surgery. Dr. Cady will see patients at both the Breast Center’s Cambridge campus and its satellite office at CHA’s Whidden hospital campus in Everett.

Cambridge Health Alliance now offers comprehensive breast health services to women from across Massachusetts. This includes digital mammography at each of its three hospital campuses (Cambridge, Somerville, and Whidden), the Cambridge Breast Center, and the new Cambridge Breast Center Whidden satellite office. Known nationally as a leader in the field of breast health, Dr. Cady has acted as president of the New England Cancer Society, the New England Surgical Society, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, and the Boston Surgical Society. Additionally, he served for eight years on the national board of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Cady is a recipient of numerous honors including the Distinguished Service Award of the American Cancer Society and the Heritage Award of the Society of Surgical Oncology, and is also the author of over 300 articles, book chapters, commentaries, and editorials on surgery and oncology.

Dr. Cady is a graduate of Amherst College and Cornell University Medical College. Over his career, he has held positions on the surgical staff of the Lahey Clinic, on the faculty of both Harvard Medical School and Brown University School of Medicine, and as director of the Breast Health Center at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI. He most recently served as the interim director of the Comprehensive Breast Center at Rhode Island Hospital, a model of multi-disciplined and integrated management of breast cancer.
