Cambridge Health Alliance Psychiatry Manager Receives Community
Service Award from Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services

Cambridge
Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that Meckle Elston, LICSW,
is the recipient of the 2007 Kahn Community Service Award presented
by Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES). Given in the memory
of Nancy P. Kahn, a case manager and supervisor at SCES for over
ten years, the award honors those who improve the quality of life
of seniors in the community through interagency collaboration. It
was recently presented to Ms. Elston at the Serving Seniors Community
Celebration in Somerville.
Ms. Elston is the manager of geriatric outpatient psychiatry for
CHA. In addition to geriatric mental health programs, CHA offers
a variety of services for seniors, including the Elder Service Plan,
the Memory Center, and HouseCalls, which provides primary care to
homebound seniors who do not have access to the doctor's office.
Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) offers resources, information,
advice, and services to seniors, caregivers and disabled people.
SCES helps these individuals remain safe and independent by offering
assistance in the following areas: Elder Care, Home Care, Aging,
Disabilities, Senior Housing, Meals-on-Wheels, and Adult Day Care.
