Physicians Judy Platt, MD, and Greg Sawin, MD, MPH, Join Cambridge Health Alliance’s CHA Malden Family Medicine Center

Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Revere, Somerville, Winthrop, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that physicians Judy Platt, MD, and Greg Sawin, MD, MPH, have joined the staff at the CHA Malden Family Medicine Center (Center). In addition to providing primary care for patients of all ages, Drs. Platt and Sawin will serve as faculty for the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency program, housed at the Center.

Dr. Platt brings to CHA a demonstrated commitment to family medicine, medical education, and community service. She previously served as Family and Community Medicine Chief Resident at Albany Medical College, where she organized orientation workshops for third-year medical students, provided personalized mentoring to first-year students, and earned the 2006 Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Award. Dr. Platt was also honored with the 2005 Community Service Award from Unity House, a shelter in Albany, NY, for her work running a weekly health care clinic for victims of domestic violence. She is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

Dr. Sawin has extensive experience with community medicine and public health issues. He has investigated the care for young children with illness in Botswana, organized diabetic group visits, and conducted surveys to examine tobacco use by teens in Virginia. Among his other research interests are health care disparities, medical education, and systems-based medical practice. He recently completed a fellowship in faculty development at the University of Virginia, where he also performed his residency and earned a Master of Public Health degree. He is a graduate of the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.

The CHA Malden Family Medicine Center is located at 195 Canal St. in Malden. It offers a wide range of health services for the whole family. Drs.
