CAMBRIDGE HEALTH ALLIANCE CONTRIBUTES TO THE ENHANCEMENT OF GREEN STREET PARK IN MALDEN

Malden, MA…Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced today that it will make a $10,000 donation to the City of Malden toward the next phase of development of Green Street Park. CHA’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Paul Allison presented the gift to Malden Mayor Richard C. Howard and Ward One City Councillor Gary Christenson at the site of CHA’s new multi-specialty healthcare center at 195 Canal St. The new center will open in mid-June.

"This gift underscores the City of Malden's dedication to preserving open spaces and providing exceptional recreational opportunities for its residents. We look forward to Cambridge Health Alliance as a strong partner as it opens its Malden medical center later this year," said Mayor Howard.

Councillor Gary Christenson, long an advocate of improving Green Street Park, believes that these investments will boost the spirit and pride of many of Malden’s residents: “By investing in this park and having Cambridge Health Alliance located in the neighborhood, we offer new improvements that all of our residents can enjoy. I am grateful to Cambridge Health Alliance for this support and look forward to future collaborations with Dennis Keefe and his team,” said Councillor Christenson.

CHA’s Allison is pleased to support more venues for health and fitness in Malden. “As we look ahead to opening our new center on Canal Street in June of 2007, Cambridge Health Alliance’s gift signals our partnership with the community and the City of Malden and our hope to bolster the quality of life for Malden residents. We are pleased to support the park as part of the City’s vision to broaden outdoor and recreational access for residents,” said Allison.

Cambridge Health Alliance–Malden is a new, comprehensive primary care center at 195 Canal Street in Malden that is scheduled to open in June 2007. The cornerstone of Cambridge Health Alliance–Malden will be the Family Medicine Center. The center will be staffed by the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, a team of more than 25 Family Medicine doctors.
