I am a primary care physician at our CHA Broadway Health Center in Somerville.

Throughout my life many of my most enjoyable jobs and volunteer experiences have involved working with children, and I have always been interested in child development. Pediatrics as a specialty continues to evolve as science and medicine advance. It combines my interest in working with children with the opportunity to improve their lives and health.

All children have an innate creativity and curiosity. Young children have a wonderful earnestness and take such joy in their daily lives. Older children and adolescents are such interesting people as they figure out the world around them and develop more independence. Each age group brings its own set of joys, challenges, and medical concerns, which makes each day varied and exciting.

The best part of my job is getting to know children and families and having the opportunity to be a positive influence on their overall health. I enjoy seeing the children grow and develop and supporting them and their families during both happy and difficult times.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors hiking or swimming, and traveling when I can. I am currently the school physician at a high school in Cambridge and volunteer as the health care consultant at a Cambridge day care, both of which I enjoy. I also coordinate the Reach Out and Read program at my office site which provides books to promote literacy for children
from birth to age 5.
