INTERPRETING

Cambridge Health Alliance serves one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse patient populations in the United States. Over half of our patients have primary languages other than English. More than thirty languages are used frequently in our system, and we encounter over one hundred different languages each year.

To help bridge the linguistic and cultural gap, the Alliance provides professional interpreters, professional written translation, and cultural consultation services. These services have a dual purpose – to allow staff to communicate effectively with patients and to allow patients to receive health care in their language of choice.

Multilingual Interpreting is also part of the Alliance’s overall linguistic and cultural strategy, which includes hiring bilingual bicultural staff, offering language classes to employees, and diversity training.

To find out more about interpreters call 617-665-1426.
