Behavioral Health
Outreach Services - ACCESS Team
This program
provides mental health and substance abuse services in a flexible,
outreach-based format to HIV+ individuals, with a focus on minority
communities in our service area. Based on an Assertive Community
Treatment model, our multi-disciplinary team includes a psychiatrist,
a psychologist, and social workers, and case managers from our four
community partners: Cambridge Cares about AIDS; Centro Latino; the
Massachusetts Association of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS), and Tri-CAP.
Services are
tailored to the needs of each participant, offering medication management
services, various modalities of psychotherapy, and integrated case
management. Services may be provided at home, at community sites,
or in our clinic.
Our goals
are:
- To address
the behavioral health needs of referred HIV+ clients who might
otherwise not access such services, and;
- To do so
in a manner which embodies respect and enhances self-care, health
and quality of life.
This program
is funded by a 5-year grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental
Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) until September 30, 2011.
CHA-contracted third party insurance is accepted.
