QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE INTERNSHIP
Doctoral candidates in APA-approved clinical and counseling psychology
graduate programs, who have completed at least two years of graduate
school may apply for internships (applicants attending clinical
and counseling psychology graduate programs with pending APA-approval
will be considered). Facility with verbal and written expression,
as well as an excellent academic record is essential. Prior clinical
work in both therapy and assessment, an interest in psychodynamic
treatment, commitment to work in the public sector, and experience
with persons with severe and persistent mental illness are strongly
recommended. People from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds
are encouraged to apply.
How to apply for the Internship
We invite you to apply to become a Psychology Intern by clicking
on the link (above right).
Please note that we do not accept applications via hard copy. The
website will direct through the process of submitting your APPIC
application, additional materials and supporting documentation (including
letters of recommendation) electronically.
We notify applicants we intend to interview in early December and
we do not accept applicants we do not interview. All interviews
are held during the first three weeks of January. Applicants who
interview with us meet with training directors, core faculty and
current interns and also have an opportunity to tour the campus.
