Expert assessment and short-term treatment in a warm and safe environment.
With people living longer than ever before, there is a growing need for mental health care for older adults. The Geriatric Psychiatry Specialty Unit (GPSU) provides hospital services for these people in a caring, compassionate manner.
Based at the CHA Whidden Hospital in Everett, MA, the GPSU is a secure, 22-bed unit that serves adults 55 and older with acute mental health needs.
Patients who come here receive expert assessment and short-term treatment in a warm and safe environment. This allows us to better understand patient health and develop a treatment plan to meet their ongoing needs once they leave our care.
CHA is proud to be a leader in psychiatric care and has been recognized nationally for clinical services, teaching efforts, and commitment to diversity.
