Cambridge Health Alliance is a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital and national leader in the delivery of mental health care.
Children admitted to each of our hospital units benefit from a Harvard child psychiatry faculty, a skilled team of nurses, psychologists, social workers, teachers, and therapists, and access to unique linguistic and cultural resources.
We work with children from throughout New England who are struggling with complex diagnoses and and a broad range of needs.
To achieve this, we work closely with families, schools, state agencies, and community partners to help children and families in crisis.
Every child is different and has his/her own story. When they are in crisis, they need a caring and skilled team to evaluate their mental and behavioral health needs.
To help children, we need to understand them and the environments in which they live. Our philosophy is to build on their strengths, talents, and abilities, and to not focus solely on their difficulties. This allows us to work towards stabilizing children, better understand their needs, and give them and their families the best chance at success when they leave our care.
