WHAT IS A PHYSIATRIST?
Physiatrists are medical doctors who are experts at diagnosing and treating pain caused by nerve, muscle, and bone issues. They use non-surgical treatments to decrease pain and enhance performance. Their medical training is in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R).
• Diagnosis of bone, muscle, joint, and nerve conditions
• Management of back pain
• Office procedures, like steroid and joint injections
• Spasticity management, including nerve blocks
• Nerve conduction studies
