Somerville, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) announced the addition of three physicians to the staff at its Somerville Hospital Primary Care center: Rachel Stark, MD, MPH, Carole Demosthene, MD, and Cassandra Murphy, MD. All three see adults of all ages and are currently accepting new patients.
Rachel Stark, MD, MPH, received her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine and performed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. She then completed an internal medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Public Health degree. Board certified in internal medicine, she most recently served as a primary care physician at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Stark is an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School and has been appointed associate director of CHA's Internal Medicine Residency program.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Carole Demosthene, MD, earned her medical degree at Universidad AutÃ³noma Metropolitana. While at medical school, she participated extensively in community-based research, presenting work at several international meetings of The Network: Towards Unity for Health, a World Health Organization-affiliated non-governmental organization. Dr. Demosthene, who is fluent in Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole, completed her internal medicine residency at CHA and is board certified in internal medicine. She serves as an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Board certified in internal medicine, Cassandra Murphy, MD, comes to CHA with particular interests in women's health, senior care, and diabetes prevention. A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Dr. Murphy completed her internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She is an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School.
CHA Somerville Hospital Primary Care, located at 236 Highland Avenue in Somerville, uses an electronic health record to improve the quality and delivery of care as well as the MyCHArt patient portal, which gives patients secure online access to their medical records.
