CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a high-quality and innovative community health system that provides essential services to Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north communities, held its tenth annual golf Invitational on Monday, August 12th, at the Granite Links Golf Club at Quarry Hills in Quincy. The event raised $100K to support CHA and its critical community health mission.
Proceeds from the CHA Invitational will benefit Patient Experience of Care Initiatives at CHA’s Cambridge, Somerville, and Whidden Hospital campuses. Funds raised this year will support the purchase and implementation of specialized interpreter phones, enhancing CHA’s ability to serve its multilingual patients and improve their understanding of their health.
Since its first golf tournament in 2004, CHA has raised nearly $800,000 to help fund significant projects, including an upgrade to the Maternity Suite at CHA’s Cambridge Hospital campus and a complete renovation of the Emergency Department at the Whidden Hospital campus. Proceeds from last year’s Invitational are currently being used to install digital bulletin boards at CHA’s primary and specialty care centers and its hospital campuses.
“We truly appreciate the generosity and compassion of the Invitational’s participants and sponsors, which will help support key initiatives that benefit local residents and improve the overall health of the communities we serve,” said Deborah Murphy, RN, site administrator of CHA’s Whidden Hospital campus and co-chair of the event.
Sponsors who supported the Invitational at the Silver level were Cambridge, Everett and Medford Rehabilitation and Nursing Centers, Cataldo Ambulance, Distrigas, Eastpointe Rehabilitation, IST/ImageTech, and Professional Ambulance. Bronze-level sponsors were All Care VNA & Hospice, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Cresa Boston, and Iron Mountain.
