Cambridge Health Alliance Surgeon Arundhati Ghosh Wins Young Mentor Award from Harvard Medical School

Cambridge, MA...Cambridge Health Alliance staff surgeon Arundhati Ghosh, MD, is a recipient of the Harvard Medical School (HMS) 2010-2011 Young Mentor Award. Sponsored by the HMS Office for Diversity and Community Partnership, this honor is bestowed on select individuals for their exceptional mentoring efforts, which are a critical part of medical education.

The Young Mentor Award reflects Dr. Ghosh's longstanding commitment to the education and mentorship of HMS's medical students. In addition to serving as Instructor in Surgery at HMS, Dr. Ghosh also acts as Surgery Curriculum Director for the HMS Cambridge Integrated Clerkship program, an award-winning redesign of the principal clinical year in medical school that is a model for clinical education reform nationally and internationally.

Dr. Ghosh performs surgeries at CHA's Cambridge, Somerville, and Whidden Hospital campuses. Board-certified in general surgery, she completed her residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as well as a research fellowship in pediatric trauma at New England Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric surgery at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Ghosh will be honored at an Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 7, at the Tosteson Medical Education Center at HMS.
