Dear Future
Family Physician:
We're in the midst of a health care revolution, and at Tufts University
Family Medicine Residency Program, you'll get a front row seat.
We're at an unprecedented time in history with the current economic
and health care crisis, and crisis brings opportunity for change,
and one of the major changes that law makers, economists and patients
agree on is the need for a forward thinking primary care based health
system. That's where we come in.
Tufts University
Family Medicine Residency Program is a university affiliated community
based program sponsored by Cambridge Health Alliance, the last fully
public hospital institution in Massachusetts. Cambridge Health Alliance
really GETS primary care rather than viewing it as a "feeder
system for our specialists" like many health systems. The majority
of physicians at CHA are primary care physicians and the infrastructure
has been built to support it with state of the art electronic medical
record systems, population management tools, robust translation
services and a dedication to community as well as individuals' health.
Our residency
program is one of the 14 family residency programs in the nation
that is part of the P4 national demonstration project to lead the
way in educational re-design to train the next generation of family
physicians. Our program will not only give you excellent exposure
to a first rate clinical education - we'll also equip you to be
life long learners and teach you the tools of information mastery
and help you develop executive skills needed to be leaders in your
practice, clinics, communities and beyond.
Thanks for visiting
our website, and please don't hesitate to contact me or any of our
residents or faculty if you have any questions. I think you'll find
that we're a passionate group of doctors that are excited by the
challenges to lead a primary care revolution.
Cheers,
Gregory Sawin,
MD, MPH
